The Last Google Algorithm Update (August 2008)
Posted on August 28th, 2008 by Rishabh Sood under Blogging, General Chat, Link Building, SEO Tricks/TipsHello guys,
Today I am going to tell you about The Last Google Algorithm Update (August 2008), It seems like the last update was a nightmare for me, all my keywords dropped. I am still working hard to see if I can get them back.
anyways here is what I complied after researching a lot on the internet
1) Link Popularity
Now if you want to get top rankings you will have to focus on inbound links in order to see your website on google’s top #10
2) Domain Age
This is really a nightmare for me now! my website is a month old and is no where to be seen on google! Happened with almost all my friends with new domain. We used to see new websites ranking high if they have good content but using good content also I was not able to rank high! Now it all depends on the age of the domain!!
3) Page Rank
Now PageRank will be a factor for ranking high! If you have good PR you rank High
Please note these points which I have listed are not of my own! These may also be wrong.. but I have experienced it myself so I am letting you guys know about it. Now I’m really depressed if that’s Google’s new Algo due to this new websites will be no where to be seen!
PS: I just see I got few of my keywords back! haha
Thats all for today guys on topic The Last Google Algorithm Update (August 2008)

This alorithm update has helped me alot. I was shocked to see my blogspot domain jump up in the SERP’s. Keep up the work and build those backlinks. Another helpful tip I can giv is to join a lot of forums and leave your link in your signature. Trust me…..this will help you jump up in the erps like I have. As far as age of domain goes, it will take about 6-8 months for you to see good changes. Keep up the fight in the search engine war.

Hi
The change in Google algorithm has really upset me. It was quite OK till mid September but lately I have been noticing that my website traffic from Google has considerably receded. Earlier I used to receive, on an average, at least one contact us message per day.
What di I do? Please help me.

I was told that page rank did not affect your rankings.

I know that this post was old. But my points of view is related to this post. I don’t know when is the latest update of google, but our site that is on the position of 41 was now in top 1! O_O I don’t know what to say.. maybe my eyes has a problem. But I look at it again and there it is at the number 1 spot! ^_^ Maybe this time I should learn how to accept that our site was on that position =D That is all I just like to share my thoughts..

according to my knowledge… they will not change the algorithm very often, it is always better to give links in the other ranking pages
