Rules in the World of Guest Blogging

Posted by Rishabh Sood in SEO Tricks/Tips

Did I just say Rules? Thats right you should know by now no matter how great you are, blogging on another blog, also known as Guest Blogging is not your divine right. It is an opportunity given to you by the blog owner. Most people blow this opportunity because they are unaware of the rules. In result, you harm the reputation of the blog you are blogging at, but even more you harm your own reputation. If you are serious about your blog and want to promote it, then Guest Blogging is one of the ways you can do it. Learn How you can Guest Blog effectively and gain numerous luxuries that you don’t have!

What is Guest Blogging, and how it can be helpful to me? Guest Blogging is an art that helps both the guest blogger, and the owner of the blog. Most bloggers want to increase traffic to their blog. They want more readers, more visibility in the blogosphere, and more power to their brand. Some go about buying text links, while others decide to start Pay Per Click (PPC) Campaign. Majority of the bloggers don’t even realize that Guest Blogging can be one of the biggest converting campaign they can do for their blog (For FREE). The only risk is, sometimes you might end up harming yourself and your blog instead of gaining any benefits. So do the job right, and you will see the difference in your stat sheet.

Where do I Start? You should start by looking at the most relevant blogs in your niche. Preferably someone who have been in the industry longer. People say, go for the biggest / most popular blog. I will not argue that, but I say if you have an easy opportunity than take it. Once you have found the blog that you want to guest blog on, you need to start researching.

Researching Phase You need to find out who read this blog (What type of audience?). How can you target this audience? You need the answer to these questions before you can decide on what topic to write about. – Who reads The University Kid (TUK) ? – Bloggers, Webmasters, Future Bloggers / Webmasters. – How can you target this audience? – By writing something useful to the audience.

Writing Phase Guest BloggingOnce you have come up with the topic, you must be able to justify it in your mind before going further ahead in the process of writing the post. – Balkhis, Why are you writing this post? I am writing this post because I saw the last guest blogged post. When I head over to the blogger’s site, they had the same topic going on. Which is a big NO NO. When you start writing a guest blog post, you must make sure it is not the same article that you will post on your own site at the same time. Because you should know what it creates. DUPLICATE Content. For your site and for the blog that you are blogging on. Your goal is to add value to the site that you are writing on, as well as bringing some new readers over to your blog. If you write the same article on your site, and then submit it as a guest post on another blog, it might bring you some new users, but it won’t bring you any new loyal readers.

That leaves us with adding value to the blog that you are writing on. – Balkhis how are you adding value to this blog? I am a regular reader on this blog, and as I see that Jason has opened this awesome opportunity, there will be more people guest blogging. I personally don’t want to receive any email containing worthless posts. Therefore, I think if I clearly defines the rules of guest blogging than it will help the future guest bloggers, and we won’t see pointless posts. When writing a blog post, you don’t necessarily have to write about a different topic. Because majority of the good popular blogs will have the topics covered already. But having your own voice and personal point of view is the key that makes your guest post astounding.

Linking Process Don’t think that Guest Blogging is just an opportunity for you to promote your product. So don’t make it self-centered toward your product. You can link to relevant article from your blog, but adding too many external links to your own sites will get your blog post declined. And if it gets approved (only if you have a super good post), you will still see negative comments by the readers.

What should be on your blog? When you submit the guest blog post, your site must have a very good article running, so it grabs the new visitors and converts them into your loyal readers. This is the way to get the most out for yourself and your blog. But remember, this is the second part. You must have good content on the other blog in order to get the visitors to your blog.

Comment Actively I will admit, that I am not very good at this. Due to the fact that there is only 24 hours in a day and I have so much to do. But I will still do my best in responding to each comment on my guest blog actively. So no matter what you do, always, always, always respond actively to your guest blog post. But remember, don’t start a riot. If you like this article, and want to see more. Visit Balkhis.com.

How To Get Lots Of Subscribers In Very Less Time

Posted by Rishabh Sood in SEO Tricks/Tips

Hello guys,

Its been while.. I am quite busy with my other blogs and projects.. Anyways back to the topic How To Get Lots Of Subscribers In Very Less Time:..

Content. This blog started out a little vile to say the least… I used to swear a lot online at the beginning, although this has lessened (unless I come across someone really annoying). Of late though, which is the last few months, I started trying to put out good, useful content that would help people in all aspects of internet marketing – there wasn’t really a place that I thought people could go to, as I found blogs completely useless while I was learning to do, so I wanted to become that blog – the one people would recommend to friends that had helped them positively.

If you want to run a blog, good content is key. What is good is subjective, as people see different things as good, however what you want is content that appeals to your niche, that isn’t too long or too short and to be as honest as you possibly can.

Contests. No matter how small or how large your blog, you’ll always be able to get contests sponsored if you approach advertisers well. In the beginning, I had to contact people myself… but these days all I have to do is put up a post and people will be willing to sponsor something – as well as the emails offering various sponsored items.

Forum Marketing. When I started promoting this blog, it was getting 3,000 or more uniques monthly through forum marketing alone. Choose a large forum, stick up a catchy signature link and post stuff that adds value. This works for any niche, btw.

Aweber. It’s easier to get people to opt in to an Aweber list than Feedburner – however, for me everyone that opts into the former gets the latter. Offer an incentive for people to subscribe (in my case, I offered an eBook); whenever people sign up to my list they get a list of posts every ten days. If they like the posts, they can subscribe through Feedburner for daily updates.

Why Subscribe. I added a page that talked about why people should subscribe to the feed, and it’s getting a decent amount of visitors (that I’m assuming convert) monthly. Presell visitors to your blog – remember, you’re trying to ’sell’ them on subscribing to your blog and offering reasons is a great way to do so.

Testimonials. People always want to check these out on a site – it’s always good to see what others are saying. I’ve a testimonial page that offers people a backlink in exchange for a couple sentences about the site, and it benefits everyone.

Creative marketing. Two, maybe two and a half months ago this blog had something like 400 subscribers (just before the beginning of Blogging Idol – I honestly can’t remember the date that started) – now it is 1,000. Around 250 – 300 of that is because of the Aweber integration, but other than that I’ve done some creative marketing – the password protected post (which I’ll talk in depth about) added another 200 odd subscribers over the course of that week. I do little to no active promotion of this blog nowadays, that is promoting it on other sites.

Guest posts. Unique, interesting guest posts win. Put out something that gets people to think on another blog and they will visit your site. I don’t do guest posts these days, although I’m thinking of submitting a few just to shake things up… we’ll see.

Comments. Comment on other blogs like you would write guest posts – I comment not for exposure, but because I like the blogger or the post. Comment enough when you start out and people will comment back.

Competition. I had a competition with five bloggers a while ago, which I won – seeing who could increase their RSS the most in a month. I also am currently running a site flip competition, which will start soon – people subscribe because they want to be updated on that kind of stuff, as it’s interesting (think how many people were interested in the Top Affiliate Challenge, even though it was shit).

Controversy. I’ve never been scared of ‘outing’ people that annoy the hell out of me or are doing stuff I don’t agree with, no matter how big – as with the above, people love a lil drama.

Interaction. I’m a guy you guys can ask questions, as long as I’m not busy, tired, drunk / stoned and you’re not annoying. I’ve helped quite a few over the last few months that have come directly from the blog, and I’d hope most of that help has been useful. Although I haven’t really replied to many emails of late, as I’ve been busy going out and stuff, I do try and follow up with whatever I can.

How To Increase Your Subscriber Count

Posted by Rishabh Sood in SEO Tricks/Tips

Hello,

First off, I’m extremely sorry to my readers for not updating my blog… I was under going few problems from last few days. First I had 5 stiches on my right hand and after that I was suffering from conjunctivitis.. I am fine now and would be updating the blog whenever I get a little bit of time. :)

Now getting back to the topic.. How To Increase Your Subscriber Count..

Have something to promote.

I had a technique that I had been using myself, so know it was successful, to make myself a steady, guaranteed income without doing any work whatsoever once it was setup. The method still works but it’s harder to do now because of networks tightening down – however, at the time it was solid.

I had made around $7,500 in two months using this, and had not personally seen it discussed on any other blog. Two immediate things that would almost guarantee people wanting to hear about it (just for info, the method was about CPM arbitrage). I knew that this information was worth a lot of money to anyone that used it, and could have packaged it up and sold it… but at the time I was disillusioned with IM-related products so decided to do the next best thing.

Have a reputation.

If you do something like this on a brand new blog when no one’s heard of you before, it’s unlikely it’s going to work out at all (unless you do the next part well). People need to know who you are, whether you’ve achieved anything, how worthy your word actually is.

On this blog, people had about a 100 of past posts to gauge what I was capable of and whether the upcoming information would be any good… most decided it was worth the free risk.

Build Hype.

Hype makes the world go ’round. Well it doesn’t, but it’s largely important for almost ANY kind of marketing you do. Don’t go overboard, but remember that since your post is password protected, people have no way to gauge what’s in it unless you notify them before hand. While you’re doing this, you can hype it up a little bit.. Almost 200 comments in a few days which is not bad at all.

Make it easy.

It really depends what you want, and what you’re offering. If you ARE offering high quality, don’t be afraid to make your readers do a little work… remember, you are giving them something at no monetary cost whatsoever. However, don’t make them do too much work as you’ll find that most people simply can’t be arsed.

In this case, I gave people a choice – refer three people to subscribe (can you see how that would spread?), write a review on your blog (more reviews = more exposure, again more chance of it spreading) or build links to this blog. I eventually cut down on the link building thing after being warned that it could be bad for SEO, but anyways – all three options benefited me and people could choose on which one they thought was easiest for them. It’s always good to give people a choice.

Promote

It was my first time doing this kind of thing, so I kind of just wrote up the post and let it sit there… I didn’t do any promotion on it and sat on my backside (it promoted itself fairly well though!). If I were to do it again, I’d promote on forums, other blogs etc, make sure that I got it in front of many eyeballs as possible. Don’t make my mistake.

Deliver!

Once you’ve got people waiting, it’s only fair that you deliver. It doesn’t matter if only one person signed up and followed through, you should try and deliver as best as you can. If what you promised is indeed quality, you’ll have people recommending your blog even after the hype is over.

Last but not least, don’t do this too often. Once a week will probably grow your blog quick for a month or two, but unless you keep up sensational quality people are going to get tired and stop listening to you (or worse, to stick your post somewhere you don’t want it to go… ). This can be worked for any niche – you can see a lesser done example of this with the popups on numerous blogs asking for your email in exchange for a product.

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, my results were around 300 more subscribers than I would have had otherwise, in less than a week. That’s quite a chunk of my RSS count, and the best thing is that once you have people subscribe as long as you don’t piss them off most of them will stay subscribed.

This idea is only limited by your creativity. Feel free to test, tweak it and let me know how it goes!

Useful Backlink Generator Tools

Posted by Rishabh Sood in SEO Tricks/Tips

Backlinks are really important not only to drive traffics but also to enhance your position in search engine. Many of webmasters spend their money to buying links from other site to get little juice from other high-ranked sites.

For you with low budget to build incoming links into your site, there are some tools that give you quality and massive advantages in link building. I will give you review about two of them which i found very simple yet powerful.

1. PR Backlink Generator.
This is software that help you to find hndreds of WordPress blogs with high PR and suitable with your niche.

One thing you should remember, this software is not the auto comment poster. All the comments are made and typed by yourself. Autocomment will affect badly for your site because the comments are assumed as spam.
Advantages:
- Finding 100 blogs at a time.
- Niche-related.
- Until PR8 blogs.
- Portable (no need to install)
- User friendly.

2. Commentkahuna – Comment Luv Backlink
Basically, this feature works based on Comment Luv WordPress plugin. Plugin which requires you to put your name, email and url and then pull your last blog post to the page. By leaving a comment in a blog such this, you earn do-follow backlinks and straightly autoapproved.

Commentkahuna software helps you to find such a blogs. You can find your niche-related blogs, leave the comments on each of them (some of them with high PR) and enjoy the juice.

Download Commentkahuna directly on their official website :
http://commentkahuna.com

Just remember, each of these tools are built to help you but don’t take it with the improper techniques. Don’t spamming someone’s blog because you have to build relationship with other webmasters.

Happy link baiting and take your site to the sky.

PageRank Update, How Much They Affect You

Posted by Rishabh Sood in SEO Tricks/Tips

In the first two days of April (1st and 2nd of April), you will get your site’s Google Pagerank is shaking. yes that’s correct, Google updating their database. For some webmasters, PR update is one of the moment that will give us brighter future or vice versa.

For me who monetizing my web and blog with selling links and blogposts, PR update is really important since it will affected my next earning. However, a lot of question will arise regarding how important your website PageRank is.

On the other hand, Some of webmasters think that traffic is more important than PR. I believe they are webmasters who gain their earning from particular programs such as Adsense, CPM-based advertising, affiliates, etc. So for them, Google PR update is just ordinary occassion.

For you who still confuse with which one should you fighting for, my list of advantages in having a high PR. I hope the list will give you brighter view about importances of PR.

Having a high PR:
1. More webmasters will be interested in linking to your site. Because the webmasters believe that high PR is the proove that your site is legit enough in google eyes.

2. Google bots will visit your site often and your site will get crawled easily because of its incoming links.

3. Attract other webmasters to pay you more for the links from your site.

4. Opportunity to get higher traffic. High PR means lot of backlinks and chances to get more clicks. But, it is only posibility. No way we can conclude that high PR equal to high traffic.

5. Increasing your image as a webmaster. Assuming how good your site and your skill to manage your website and backlinks.

However, to get your site a PR, sometimes need luck and lot of hardworks. If your site’s PR doesn’t increase in the last update although you work hard on it, please be patient. Keep on working and still do a link building. Wish you all the best.
