Posted on March 28th, 2010 by Rishabh Sood under SEO Tricks/TipsIf you’re starting off with blogging or creating your own website, the first thing you would need is cheap web hosting. You must go for a web host which provides good features, good support and good uptime. If you’ve multiple websites you should rather go for reseller hosting than buying several shared account. Reseller hosting gives you power to do much much with your websites. Here are some common things you should keep in mind while buying web hosting.

2) FTP Access – Few web hosting companies gives just a web site builder to its client, its good to have FTP access in case you want to upload some scripts or install a blog like wordpress.
3) Support – The web hosting comany you are going to pick should provide you 24/7 support, so that in case a problem occurs you can contact them and get the problem solved instantly.
4) Reliability, Security and Speed – The web hosting company should be reliable, should be scure and should provide reasonable speed so that your website opens up quickly.

I have used several different hosting companies and now have my own dedicated server. I use godaddy for registering domain names, and 1and1 for hosting. I can’t recommend godaddy’s hosting, although, you do get a free account with a domain name (has ads) which can be useful at times. A shared hosting account with 1nad1 includes 3 domain names so you don’t have that expense. I think both meet the requirements you lay out, which are good.

I’m aware that many people hate Dreamhost, but I’m actually quite happy with their shared hosting. It’s dirt cheap and you get unlimited storage space and transfer, SSH access (very important for me) plus all the standard goodies. If you don’t put too much strain on the CPU (ie. your server-side code is well optimized) you can use it even for sites with relatively large traffic.

I would like to add that as important when choosing a web hosting is the quality of backup and restore your data. When the collapse happens servers or hard disks, it is important that within a few hours or days completely restored the email files or site. I had this experience, and satisfied that my hosting coped with the task. It is also important to support the hosting FTP connection over secure protocols such as SSH.

Nice tips Rishabh
Choosing the best web hosting is very important, since we use it for long time, when some problems occur in the middle then usually we’re lazy to move the hosting. So, choosing the best from beginning is crucial.
