@Rishabh: Pinging your blog is almost redundant with wordpress blogs nowadays. Promotion of blog is definitely something that’s mandatory to make any money from the blog.

I personally beleive that one of the best ways to make money from your blog is to have a blog about something your genuinely interested in!
Dont just make a blog thinking “I want to make money”, make one about something you like, or your passionate about. This means that you will have lots of real content, not just spam copied from other blogs. And as well all know, Content is King!

I don’t think that making a living only from your blog is possible, at least not in the first 1-2 years from it’s creation. This means that this is not a miracle way to earn $ while doing nothing, in a few days, as some people seem to think.
I think Milo hit the nail on the head saying you need to be passionate about the theme of your blog, this will keep you going.
Oh, and good post by the way, you covered all the marketing basics. Following this advice one could avoid many problems he or she could potentially encounter.

Great tips to get blogs making money. Pinging is great, making your blog a do follow and using keyword luv is a good plan too. It helps your blog and allows other bloggers to help their at the same time.

I already find it hard to earn money from advertising and affiliate program. I prefer paid post, but it depends on the PageRank. When Google de-rank my blog to PR0, no job will ever given to me.
